Positive thinking will only change your mood for the moment, positive beliefs will change your life.
Saying that you think good things will happen to you, won't change anything if the fact is that you still believe that you are "behind the 8 ball".
Changing mantras may help shape the beliefs you already have but positive thinking is just not enough to create a new belief.
So let's look at the paradigm of someone who wants to attract wealth into their life:
They stop using phrases like "just scraping by" and "living pay check to pay check" from their vocabulary - which is a great start, but there needs to be something more...
If this person still believes that they do not deserve wealth or they feel that for them to have money means taking it away from someone else the new mantra of "money money money" won't get them anywhere.
The core belief must be congruent with the goal or the goal will never be achieved.
I know several people (myself included) who talk about doing things - but in the end it never gets done. After some recent reflection I realized I had several beliefs that were conflicting.
Conflicting beliefs will stall your progress.
If you have one belief that money is the root of all evil, and another belief that you are a good person - how hard will it be to be financially successful? Impossible!
Taking a full day to contemplate a stalled out project and analyzing what beliefs are coming into play can free you from stagnating.
The positive thinking that you should be pursuing should be based on the beliefs you have in yourself and nothing more and nothing less.
I challenge you to take some time this week and explore what your beliefs are and find the mottos that you use to describe your life. Are these mottos serving you or holding you back?
Have a great week,
Jay Martens
