Freeing up you time is as simple as lowering your expectations.
If you quit all your current projects you would have a blank schedule. Unfortunately we can't quit everything, but we can begin to quit the things in our lives that are not moving us forward.
We can always quit the little things, then the bigger things, just be sure that the things you are quitting are not just out of convenience or to avoid responsibility that is genuinely yours.
Take the time this week to review all of the things that you "Just can't quit" and then start ordering them based on the consequences.
See if there are any activities or habits you have that are no longer serving you.
Feel free to quit anything that isn't working.
I give you permission to quit 3 things this week.
So get out there and Quit!

Finding your passion is the key to success
People who succeed in life are the ones who find the thing that they are passionate about and pursue it.
Finding what you are passionate about will enable you to engage in a way that you may not have experienced.
When you are passionate you will find:
- the work doesn't feel like work
- time has no meaning
- you are able to view things in multiple dimensions
- the work seems to "flow"
Find your passions and then you will find the keys to your success!

Big things on the Horizon!
No matter where you are there are big things coming soon!
Everyday there are huge change opportunities.
Having the mindset to see these opportunities and the courage to act on them is the difference that makes the difference.
Take the time to think about the struggles you have had even in the last week and ask one question: "Did I respond to this situation as a hurdle to overcome or an opportunity to learn?"
You will find that life will constantly give you learning opportunities if you are looking for them and ready to accept them. If you are not ready yet - these opportunities will look a lot like problems and stress.
I see big things for you, if you need to change your problems into opportunities give me a call.
Cheers,
Jay Martens

Walk before you Run!
Many people want to book 3 sessions and then experience a total life transformation.
This rarely happens - most people are more complex than that.
Re-aligning your personal perceptions that have been built and reinforced over your entire life may take more than a few sessions jammed into a weekend.
People will see quick results from working with a life coach - but a complete life overhaul takes time - several months of consistent work and effort - but most people will take a full year to realize a complete life transformation.
One year to get the basics down before you get crazy with it and are completely realizing your dreams.
Get started sooner than later!

You don't know everything.
You don't know everything, I certainly don't know everything!
One of the main reasons people seek out a life coach is to get a fresh new perspective on their lives. I don't know everything - I do know different things than you know. That is the trick, we all know different things so we can work together to become more than we could on our own.
Ask yourself this:
Would I rather tune a piano or write music to be played on a piano or play a piano or craft a piano out of wood and wire?
In life everyone wants to be the one in the spotlight - the reality is there is a greater need for unique skills behind the scenes than on stage.
No matter what you do in life, there are areas of knowledge and skill that you will just not have. Having a life coach helps you find people that you can trust to rely on to provide the knowledge and skills that you lack.
You don't need to reinvent the wheel to take the bus!
I am all about covering the areas of knowledge you may not have so you can focus on what you do the best / enjoy the most.
Take a look this week and examine if there are any areas of life you are doing things that someone else should be doing.

Breathe in, Hold, Exhale, and Repeat
To truly relax through simple breathing techniques you will need to be able to count to 10.
One simple breathing technique that I shared with my clients is the 6-4-6.
Breathe in for a full count of 6.
Hold your breath and keep counting to 10.
Exhale for a full count of 6.
Repeat.
Try this when you have a free moment or two and you will be rejuvenated and refreshed.

Jay Says Relax
Today I am struck by the ability of people to rush from one thing to the next without resting in between. This may be seen as efficient and "Multi-Taskers" never seem to sit still.
Let me tell you a secret: There are 7 days in a week and you need to relax in order to enjoy them all!
Many of my clients rush for 5 days then complain that the weekend is so short...The fact is that when the weekend hits they don't know how to relax so they barrel through it at 100 MPH and never stop to relax.
Here is what I tell my clients about relaxation:
You Don't need to be on a private beach in Bora Bora - but it helps.
Close your eyes and imagine (for the duration of 5 deep breaths) that you are sitting on a pristine beach in Bora Bora with a cold drink in your hand.
After your 5 breaths open your eyes and you will feel invigorated.
Repeat as needed.
Remember you still have responsibilities and need to get things done. Getting things done is always easier after a vacation - even if it is only a half minute long.
Till Next Time!

First Steps - finding your footing
Before you run you need to find your balance, then you need to tilt your leanings in the direction of your goals.
Finding out what makes us tick can be an easy process, here are three 'oldie - but - a - goodie' ways to find what you value most:
1. If money were no object what would you do and why?
2. At what time in your life were you the most content - what were you doing and how did it make you feel?
3. If you could give only one piece of advice to everyone in the world what would it be?
Try all of these exercises and write down your answers - it is a very powerful thing to be able to come back later and see how many of these things you will be able to accomplish in a very short time.
Till next time!

Blogging About Clients....I Don't
Just as a note, three of my current clients were quite curious that I had started blogging about being a life coach and they wanted to know if I was posting about them.
I assured them and my other clients that I would never break a trust of confidence just to get some hits on my blog.
The blog is slowing going to turn into a place where I can help facilitate change to more people than just the few I am able to see each day.
The specifics you share in confidence never leave the coffee shop.
Scouts honor, every time.
Cheers.
