Positive thinking isn't enough!

Positive thinking will only change your mood for the moment, positive beliefs will change your life.

Saying that you think good things will happen to you, won't change anything if the fact is that you still believe that you are "behind the 8 ball".

Changing mantras may help shape the beliefs you already have but positive thinking is just not enough to create a new belief.

So let's look at the paradigm of someone who wants to attract wealth into their life:
They stop using phrases like "just scraping by" and "living pay check to pay check" from their vocabulary - which is a great start, but there needs to be something more...

If this person still believes that they do not deserve wealth or they feel that for them to have money means taking it away from someone else the new mantra of "money money money" won't get them anywhere.

The core belief must be congruent with the goal or the goal will never be achieved.

I know several people (myself included) who talk about doing things - but in the end it never gets done. After some recent reflection I realized I had several beliefs that were conflicting.

Conflicting beliefs will stall your progress.

If you have one belief that money is the root of all evil, and another belief that you are a good person - how hard will it be to be financially successful? Impossible!

Taking a full day to contemplate a stalled out project and analyzing what beliefs are coming into play can free you from stagnating.

The positive thinking that you should be pursuing should be based on the beliefs you have in yourself and nothing more and nothing less.

I challenge you to take some time this week and explore what your beliefs are and find the mottos that you use to describe your life. Are these mottos serving you or holding you back?

Have a great week,
Jay Martens

Have No Fear! - (Of Public Speaking!)

I have had several requests for a focused session on "communication" specifically Public Speaking.

Public Speaking is something that strikes fear into the hearts of many - but it shouldn't.

I enjoy speaking to groups and want to pass on the secrets that I have learned over the years.

If there are enough interested people I would be looking at creating a 4 hour intensive workshop spread over 2 nights specifically dealing with how to become a master of Public Speaking.

Email me if you are interested and which week (Thursday & Friday) work for you in August.

Until then!

Jay

June is upon us!

I would apologize to the followers of this blog for not posting in months - if there were any followers.

If you are out there and checking the blog feel free to drop me an email or comment.

I have been super swamped with work and with coaching.

several clients have been going through periods of change recently and every year in the spring people tend to make more changes as each new year brings new beginnings.

The first five months of every year I feel exceptionally motivated to get outside and get the Physical realm in order (get the yard ready to go for the summer growth cycle etc.).

Also there is the motivation to get the internal things in my life more aligned with my values and goals. This makes for a very busy beginning to the year!

Take the time this month to start relaxing and enjoying the summer that should show up soon (any day now?).

I know that after this rush of motivation that lasts almost half a year the trick is to keep the momentum through the summer and fall.

By the way I had several calls about the beginning of the year offer even last week and unfortunately the spots have been filled.

If you or anyone you know needs a life coach or a public speaking coach - give me a call and we can work something out.

Cheers,
Jay Martens

New Years Momentum

Change is definitely in the air as I write this!

I have been able to re-arrange my schedule (as of yesterday) and am now opening up three new slots for clients!

The great clients I have were willing to accommodate a "shuffle" of sorts to their scheduled meetings. This re-organization will limit my travel time and open up a full three slots per week.

If you or someone you know could use a life coach - contact me and I will give them the New Year's Special:
- Initial interview free of charge!
- First consultation session (one week after the initial interview) free of charge!
(space is limited so email now!)

Contact me today and start changing your life!

Cheers!
Jay

Resolutions don't work

Don't waste your time with "New Years Resolutions" they don't work!

If the item at the root of your resolution were really causing you that much pain or was really that great of a goal - you would have made it a long time ago and actually stuck with it.

Resolutions should happen at the instant you realize that you need to complete a task.

If you look in the mirror and say "I should loose a few pounds..." That is the very instant you need to commit to doing something about it. Walking away and saying that "another day won't matter..." is just procrastination.

Do or die people!

You are in or you are out.

If you like your weight and have a satisfactory level of health you won't want or need to loose a few pounds.

If you are looking at any area of your life and truly want to change it - you can! Instantly!
Turn your focus to change.
If you want to loose weight take the doughnut out of your hand and put it where it belongs - in the garbage and take this instant to begin devising a battle plan.

While you are making your plan of attack do not consult the enemy!

"Just finishing up these left over pizzas while I figure out what healthy foods I need to buy from the grocery store to start my new diet..." This kind of thinking is only for losers.

You have the ability to choose to do ANYTHING you want WHENEVER you want!

Stop slacking and get out there and make 365 resolutions this year - at least one new one a day!
